Joseph E. Bohne
Joseph E. Bohne, 95, died Wednesday
[October 20, 2004]
at his daughters' home in Topsfield [Massachusetts].
Born in Sanford, Maine, he was educated in Lawrence schools and was a longtime Methuen resident. For many years, he was a weaver in the textile mills in Lawrence, including the Wood Mill. For 10 years he was employed at Bolta Products, a Division of General Tire, also in Lawrence.
He was a member of St. Lucy's Church in Methuen. He was also active in the Methuen and Lawrence Senior Citizen's Centers where he was a dancer with the Young at Heart Club. He was also an avid gardener.
The widower of Cecelia M. (McCluskey) Bohne, he leaves daughters and son-in-law Jaqueline C. Baulne of Allentown, N.H., Arline R. Jelly and Donald Jelly of Topsfield, Irene A. Morris of Greenland, N.H., and Linda M. Baulne of Taos, New Mexico, son and daughter-in-law Richard J. and Pamela of Westford, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours will be Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence St., Methuen. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Lucy's Church in Methuen. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum in Lawrence.
He died only a few days short of his 96th birthday.
